What’s great about Maryborough – just three hours north of Brisbane and the gateway to stunning Fraser Island and Hervey Bay, Maryborough is most famous for being the birthplace of P.L.Travers, the author of Mary Poppins. We even have Mary Poppins street lights! Maryborough is well known for it’s beautiful parks and gardens, Heritage buildings and Queenslander homes. Steeped in history as one of the first major ports in Queensland, a visit to the Wharf St Museum and Military Museum is a must for husbands (while their wives visit us!)
Rooted in History
Looks can be deceiving from the outside when you visit Patchwork on Pallas. Situated in the suburbs, our building was a quaint, old fashioned corner butcher shop from the late 1890’s to 2002 when I converted it to the amazing patchwork and sewing machine shop it is today. When you step inside, you’ll find a treasure trove for the sewing and quilting enthusiast. See if you can spot the original meat racks or cold rooms!
We are a leading multi-award winning sewing machine retailer stocking Pfaff, Husqvarna Viking, Brother, Janome and Singer machines, Babylock, Horn Cabinets as well as specialising in Handi Quilter long arm quilters and Accuquilt products.
Our shop is busy every day with social sewing groups as well as classes in patchwork and quilting, dressmaking for adults and children, machine embroidery and software and home decoration. We are renowned for and pride ourselves on offering the best education and backup service available for each Sewing machine, Overlocker or Handi Quilter sold.
For the traveller, we have just about everything you need including caravan friendly parking, an always boiling kettle and loads of precut kits to keep you busy. Our service is friendly and we love welcoming back our interstate visitors year after year.
If all of that isn’t enough, ask us how you get to visit ‘Our Shed’. Bus groups are our speciality. Book your group in today!
If you can’t make it to see us, call us to enquire about having our ‘Pop Up Shop’ come to you!
